Not sure if this is the right section of the forum to post this but here goes.
Just got my MIL Lavockin La 5 book which details the construction of the plane. Mostly plywood finish to both the wings , tail and fuselage, hence the steel plates on eachside under the cockpit for the hot exhaust gases.
So is it likely that there would be any paint flaking/chipping on the wooden surfaces? I would expect that the paint would just weather on certain prominent areas and that any flaking would be limited to the exposed metal areas.
Any thoughts
