Due to a severe storm in my area I didn't have internet until yesterday. Since power has been restored I started checking latest threads one by one. This particular one struck me harder than the bad weather! Since Bill started the thread I was keeping my fingers crossed, trying to believe that there will be some sort of a miracle and one day Paul will return. Unfortunately he didn't.
When reading his posts I was always impressed by his photo with Pickelhaube, beard and sunglasses.

Bismarck meets Blues Brothers was my first thought. What a good sense of humor he had...
Rest in Peace, Paul!

His sense of humor was what made me laugh, or think.

:pilotsalute:

We toast our faithful comrades
Now fallen from the sky
And gently caught by God's own hand
To be with him on high.

To dwell among the soaring clouds
They knew so well before
From dawn patrol and victory roll
At heaven's very door

And as we fly among them there
We're sure to hear their plea-
"Take care my friend; watch your six,
and do one more roll… just for me."

RIP my friend!

It's 1.30am here, just could not sleep with Paul on my mind.
Hit the sack about 9.39, up to reduce the volume of my bladder at 10.30.
Up at 11.30 and am still here.
I have let his wife Francis know there are many on our forum who wish her well
and are saddened by the passing of a well liked member of our "family"
she thanked me, and thanks everyone here.
Paul was cremated as per his wishes, with no funeral also as per his wishes.
I could think of all kinds of silly stuff to put down for Paul, but it's like a whirlpool now.
Back to bed. Will give it a go tomorrow.
Take care, keep in touch with those you want close.
Later Bill

He'd probably hate the fact that you're putting in so much effort.
