IMHO and AFAIK the above photo must be staged. The a/c from the SHINTEN SEKUTAI (Air Superiority Squadron=kamikaze unit) marked by that double-headed arrow, did not have a rear gunner and/or other armament. Unless this is the pilot going to his place and the rear hatch is just opened for unknown reason.

There's a similar image on page 156 of the new In Action. Bombing Six couldn't make the photo op as the squadron was still converting to BT-1s.
