I blush at posting this, given the excellence of what other people are showing. But 50 years ago I made this 1/48 Monogram SBD and put it in prewar USMC colors, and my then-girlfriend's father took the photo. She's now my wife, the model is long gone, but the photo still reminds me of my youth and naivety.

This is an old kit I bought back in the '90's. Been on my shelf since then. Got it down and put it together back in February. Been gathering dust since then. Thought it might be interesting. Wright Cyclone very popular engine in WW2.

Hey Old Geezer. This old geezer built that model back in the '80's. I have a special place in my heart for the SBD. N October 1945, My Dad, who was a Navy Captain, took me flying in some of the planes there. SNJ, Kingfisher, PBY and a SBD. I was very lucky to fly one in the CAF back in the early '80's. So I have built a number of them over the years 1/32 and 1/48 scale. The one like your has been the shelf a long time and is pretty beat up. Here's a pic. Take care and very best wishes. 1 4 Bravo

Thought I might put some pics up of some of my older models, and a few newer ones. See what you think.
