My wife was just down in Sydney where 700 gm eggs are $9-20/doz in supermarkets and they are in what is almost certainly an engineered shortage.

We get ours from a neighbour for $4.50/doz. Size is a bit variable but the hens are free to wander all over her 2ha property so are genuine free range instead of what the egg farmers call free range where the law only requires each hen to have a area equivalent to an A4 sheet of paper.
I admit that last year on a visit to see my Brother, I went grocery shopping in Chicago and was horrified regarding the price of food. Here in the UK we get a dozen large eggs for £2.70 which I think is approx. $3.50. Pretty much across the board it was scary.

Why I want to be a pilot--an anonymous ten year old author.

I want to be a pilot when I grow up because it's fun and easy to do. That's why there are so many pilots flying today.
Pilots don't need much school, they just have to learn numbers so they can read instructions. I guess they should be able to read road maps in case they get lost.
Pilots should be brave so they won't be scared if it's foggy and they can't see, or if a wing or motor falls off, they should stay calm so they will know what to do.
Pilots have to have eyes to see through clouds, and can't be afraid of lightning or thunder because they are closer to them than we are.
The salary the pilots make is another thing I like. They make more money than they can spend. This is because most people think plane flying is dangerous, except pilots don't,
because they know how easy it is!
There isn't much I don't like about being a pilot except the girls. Girls like pilots and all the stewardesses want to marry pilots so they always have to chase them away so they won't bother them.
I hope I don't get air sick because I get car sick and if I get air sick, I couldn't be a pilot, and then I would have to get a job and go to work.

I saved this from the CAF Corpus Christi Wing Newsletter from July 1981
