In the Korean War, during a North Korean offensive, a C-47 unit carrying supplies from Japan received orders to give top priority to graham crackers. They figured the ground troops either had a hellava case of the munchies or else the waves of Korean refugees needed some simple but nutritional food that they could tolerate better than typical US rations. They flew like crazy and built a mountain of crates of graham crackers at the airfield in Korea.

Then suddenly the order was changed to give top priority to bazooka shells and they switched to flying in that item. North Korean T-34 tanks were pressing hard on US lines.

It was not until later that they found out that the code word for bazooka shells was Graham Crackers.
