In the USSR they constructed a new apartment building, 14 stories tall.
With no elevators.
The designer was taken to court, convicted, and sentenced to live on the top floor.
Imagine getting your furniture and major appliances delivered in such a place.
I lived for 5 months on the 14th floor of a 15 story apartment building next to I-95 in Northern Virginia. We had multiple elevators but even so trips back from the grocery store were a nightmare.
