This actually happened to a neighbor's daughter on prom night many decades ago. The boy had never used a jack, changed a tire or worked on a car. Fortunately the neighbor taught all his daughters to change a tire and use jumper cables. The neighbor's daughter had never used the jack for the boy's dad's Buick, but changed the tire and got to the dance. Spoiler - She married the boy anyway and as far as I know is still married.
