Clint. Reminds me of when at work we would have a going away cake for someone who was leaving that always said "GOOD LUCK JIM" or something like that.
Then the cake would get sliced and it would say "GO UCK JIM," causing people to ask what letter was in front of the UCK.

I recalled something I read in book a bit over 50 years ago.

The author had been in the advertising business for a number of years. He was brought in as a new hire by an ad agency looking for new blood. Soon thereafter the boss called them all into the conference room and said they needed to come up with a new approach to win a contract with a Japanese electronics company planning a new ad campaign in the US. So the boss told them to sit there and "Think."

So they all sat there quietly, trying to look like they were thinking, with the others stealing glances at him, clearly wondering what the supposedly smart new guy was going to come up with. He considered this absurd; you did not produce ideas that way.

So then he stood up and said, "I've got it! I've got it! The slogan we need!" They all stared at him raptly.

And he said, "From the same wonderful people that brought you the attack on Pearl Harbor!"

Back in the ancient times, 50s 60s 70s etc., the Louisiana motor vehicle division photographed (microfilmed) the titles of vehicle sales and had a microfilm processor in house. Kodak always won the film contract until Fuji underbid us. Shortly thereafter a double color foldout of the Arizona exploding appeared on the wall above the processor. It stayed there until the department head, a veteran, retired.

I remember seeing this way back when. It may have been the first "viral meme" I ever saw. I believe it was the cover of a humorous paperback. My corrupted memory files seem to remember a picture of a smiling Japanese army officer. A compact car may have been involved.
