kinda...went to the dark side a little bit :D

I remember seeing this bird at McChord AFB YEARS ago. my mother worked at a ceramic plant on McChord, and my father was in the Army based at Ft. Lewis. he took me out on the ramp, and I see this bird sitting out there. I always loved it because of those huge cargo doors looking like a big mouth, and the radome looking like a big nose. I'm certain it looked much like this one does. Old Shakey is still at McChord. It's been restored, and is now part of the museum there, sitting alongside a C-141 Starlifter...I gotta go back there, someday.

I also got some decals and some paint
For the DC-10:
FC44-046 FedEx McDD DC10 MD11 Instructions A and Decal-C.jpg

and Xtracolor Fedex Purple Paint

and for the 747:
STS44-107 Pan Am later B747-121.jpg

there's enough decals here to do "Clipper Maid of the Seas"

oh, and the [aint had to be shipped with a kit, so I just chose one :D
Model Minicraft MC14587 C-118 US Marines Liftmaster 144 scale B.jpg

I'll get either Everts Air Cargo or Alaska Airlines decals later...or maybe Northwest, Pan Am jet delivery, Braniff, American.......possibilities....:big6:

Gotta get me that Vautour my friend! Great buy!

Trebor - love the Pan Am decals! Clipper Sea Serpent, how cool was that? Shame that once great name is gone in that form and took all those pentions with it. :(

thanks, Vick. she won't be done as Sea Serpent. she'll be done as Maid of the Seas. N739PA. bit of a tribute to those lost in the Lockerbie bombing

interesting JU-88. nice score :)

as my luck would have it, the airline hobby supply guy told me the C-118 is out of stock. -.- so I had to choose nother. so I'll be getting another Revell of Germany B737-800. I'm thinking Delta Air Lines decals later on :)

Some say "you can never have too many Spitfires", I agree with that, and I'm also inclined to think that the same goes for the P-51 Mustang. With a handful of Tamiya Mustangs already in the stash I figured it was about time I got my hands on a Hasegawa kit too....with I also bought an Ultracast resin Aero Products prop (not sure wether it will go on this kit or a Tamiya kit, but I inted to use it to turn either one of these into a P-51K used by the Dutchies in the former Dutch East Indies.

Very nice Jelmer, and yep - as an Austrian model reviewer once wrote: 'You can never have too many Mustangs in the stable...' :)
