Good stuff George, I'll be interested to see how it goes together. I think those prop decals could be a bit of a b*gg*r to fit too!

Great scores guys! (Be keen to hear your opinion on the punch sets Terry)

My latest, all 1:72.

Great stuff Evan, and nice to see you back mate. That stuff looks tiny in 1/72nd scale !

The punch sets are a mixed bag. The 'expensive looking' one, in the wooden case, is from Germany, although bought in the UK, and rather rough and poor quality, but it'll do the job on plastic sheet, although I'm guessing the punch heads will need sharpening regularly. They range from 5mm to 8mm.
The one on the right in the photo, on the cheap card packaging, came from Los Angeles, cost less than the German one even with shipping, and is much better quality. Fortunately, it's probably the American one I'll be using more often, as it ranges from 2mm to 4.8mm.
I've only done a quick test with each set, and they seem to work well enough, better than the other, larger set I have.

Nice ones Jeff, especially the B-26.

Cheers Terry (and damn, still haven't replied to your last email yet sorry...)
'Bout the punches, bought a cheap and nasty set once and they were just that - pretty rough and ready. Would like to get a decent set for decals sometime.

That one's going to be my next WWII aircraft build - can't remember how much it cost me, but significantly more than you scored!
I'm planning to reconstruct a particular 135 Sq. RAF aircraft that flew out of Minneriya in 1944, when my late father was stationed there. No photos to work from, but a lot of background information.
Nice one!
I don't think I have anything much on 135 Sqn Hurricanes, but I have some info on 136 Sqn (The 'Woodpeckers'), both Hurricanes and Spitfires, collected when I did the three builds for the relations of Bob Cross, DFM, the highest-scoring RAF pilot in SEAC. But by 1944, they'd already converted to the Spit VIII, via the Spit V, so colour and marking details probably won't help much.
It seems that most available coverage of 135 Sqn centers around their Thunderbolts, but you could try the IWM and RAF Museum photo libraries, they try to help as far as possible with genuine researchers. We managed to get not only some photos, but film footage transferred to DVD.
Thanks for the advice. :)
