damn, I guess I'll have to steal from someone else, then XD

anyways, look forward to it, bud!

That Hurricane kit sounds very like the original late 1960's one, which was extremely good, apart from those things pointed out by Evan. I seem to remember the fabric contours on the rear fuselage where particularly good.
Daniel, if you can't get the 'hedgehog' exhausts you need for the 'Beau', let me know, I'm fairly sure I have some from a 1/72nd Halifax in my spares box (I think that's what they're off, it's been a long time!), which you can have if they'll help. They'll need slight modification, but nothing major.
Terry.

Much appreciated Terry

Although no need as the modeller who sold the kit to me threw in some metal ones .Don't think he actually knew they were in there because there was no mention of them in the auction or subsequent emails

Thanks for the offer though:D

Before we were so rudely interrupted I bought these wee things... The Mosquito will become a BOAC machine....

Well gents, I hate to disappoint, but I got fed up with waiting for that effing Dora to arrive (which it still hasn't), so I bought a 1/32 Trumpeter F4U-1D. There are a few things I will need to fix, such as the front wheel well doors which are completely the wrong shape. Like not even close. I can't salvage them, so I have to make new ones. I'm not usually into making my own parts, but this is too noticeable to really ignore. It also has a floor in the cockpit, which the Corsair did NOT have until the F4U-4, but it's so integral to the strength of the cockpit, I can't do anything but paint it black and hope it doesn't show up. I'm also going to backdate it to a -1A. It's either going to be:

The first 3 are from VMF-214, and if I do 86 I won't have the kill markings or the name on it, as I know they didn't normally have them on that particular plane. The last one is from VF-17, and is called Lonesome Polecat. I actually found the decals for that one (minus the 9s) in our decal bin from the old Revell kit. I think the 9s it came with were black anyway, so I should be able to find something. It's a REALLY detailed kit, so hopefully I can do it justice, but there are damned ejector pin marks EVERYWHERE.

Nice one Catch! I have the Tamiya's 1/48 F4U-1A's. Which, in the future will become one of Robert "Butcher Bob" Hanson's kites..number 596. Looking forward to the build mate! 8)

No doubt with being an Academy kits. Their WW1 stuff is horrible but nice cause its cheap......Reckon she said she got this on sale for 3 bucks :D:D:D:D

Bought 2 sets of 1/35 Red Army figures for a dio I'm planning, and some gunze softer and setter to improve my decals. Should be here this week from Hong Kong. :)

Nice buys chaps! I haven't actually GOT anything, but I've ordered the Airfix 1/24th Mosquito, that is, IF it appears, as the model shop hasn't had any further news. Also ordered the Revell 1/32nd scale Junkers JU88A1, which should arrive at the shop by mid-December.
Now, does anyone fancy helping me knock down a wall or two, so that I can extend my lounge to make room for these babies?
