Here you go, the main restaurant with panels from the OlympicFantastic, I somehow suspected you might have had something to do with the hotel. When I lived in Scotland a catering agency a pal used to run used to supply staff to hotels and restaurants in the Scottish Borders and northern England and that's how I found out about the White Swan.
Woodrow Wilson has links to Carlisle, so i think that may be who you are thinking of ?Beautiful
There is another hotel, that I cannot remember the name of - in Carlyle - that has/had some magnificent carvings in the restaurant as well when I was there in 2000. There was a link to some US President on their menu but I cannot remember which one.

No worries my friend, i googled it to check the spelling too !Yep. Definitely Woodrow Wilson. I must have been more tired than I thought to misspell Carlisle as well. The fine detailed carving though is unforgettable.
