Skier Nick Zoricic killed.

Canadian skier Nick Zoricic (29) suffered fatal head injuries today, after going wide on the final jump, crashing and colliding with the safety nets, at the World Skicross event at Grindelwald, Switzerland.
He was treated at the scene before being air lifted to hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11.35am.
Thoughts and prayers are with his family during this painful time.

Indeed a terrible loss. I have seen the accident and it is pretty horrific (he pretty much stops dead instantly from going around 60mph so not good). Not been good for the ski world this year, a couple of backcountry skiers, a halfpipe skier (the best woman) and now a ski racer. Hopefully there are no more this year.

Those so-called life saving nets on the side of the courses need to be looked at. Todd Brooker almost lost his life the same way.
