Tea and Coffee....

Coffee and popcorn smell better than they taste. Pineapple does not belong on pizza. Politics be darned.
Actually, a Pizza....just Pizza...is spiced tomatoe sauce and cheese. That's it.
I think the first Pizza with additional toppings was named for Princess Margherita of Italy.
It is simply a cheese pizza with basil leaves added. This created the colours of the Italian flag (red for the sauce, white for the cheese and Green Basil leaves)
Most Hawaiians are confused as to why a Pizza with Canadian Bacon and Pineapple is called a "Hawaiian Pizza", as Canadian Bacon is not super popular over there.
Now SPAM, on the other hand, is literally The Official Food of Hawaii.
Pineapple and Spam would make much better sense....and now I have to go buy a Cheese Pizza and some Pineapple and try that.

You had me up to the last six words.

If I'm not mistaken, it was Round Table Pizza that marketed the ham/pineapple pizza as the "Hawaiian" in the late 80's and it stuck.

However, back in the late 50's, my Aunt Pam would have the guys at Me 'n Ed's pizza parlor (in Fullerton, SoCal) take pinapple from the salad bar and put it on her Canadian Bacon pizza at her request.

It was called "Pam's Special" and it caught on with the locals in Orange County over the years as simply a "ham and pinapple" pizza at other Pizza places in the area.

Not sure who was the first to market it, but the "Hawaiian" concept is not original and I'm sure Aunt Pam was not the first to do it.
