another creepy, the bot fly, kinda like a bumble bee until it lays its eggs under the skin and the larva starts to grow and needs to breath

viking, good question. the bot fly might have laid the egg why he was sleeping or passed out but as the larva develop they move and can easily be felt moving under the skin

Yeah...I get a little something in my eye, and it drives me insane.

Having something like that in there is not an option...

one would think that that would be true, but... people never cease to amaze me. the larva are pretty easy to kill, a dab of Vaseline will block their breathing tube and they die

OK another favorite creepy, the guinea worm. ingested in contaminated water the larva tunnel their way from the digestive tract to the feet or legs where the adult emerges from a painful blister that quickly ulcerates
the adult can be pulled out slowly but if it breaks the remainder pulls back in where it dies and causes massive infection

Golly guys thanks, makes me all warm a fuzzy.
actually this 80 YO man had brain cancer it had been eating away at his skull for a number of years leaving a number of holes through his skull. he had never sought medical help because there was no pain. he was then involved in a traffic accident and received a blow to the head. his skull litterally fell to pieces exposing his entire brain. flies had been entering the small holes and laying eggs for many months. it looked like old hamburger that had been left outside to rot
