Our annual April rainy season has begun. The front came through Tx this week and finally made it to SE Texas. The rain started around 8;00 last night. The several thunderstorms arrived at 8:45. The pets were not happy. Neither was the boss since she was asleep. I was watching out the back windows checking for the early sign of the yard flooding. I noticed the lot behind us kept lighting up. It was like several artillery simulators going off for about 15 minutes. I grabbed the phone and checked one of the local
TV channel weather radar. The rain band was sitting on top of us and the edge of the red area was was several feet from our fense line. Lucky it only lasted about 20 minutes. Now it is a light rain. I will be on flood watch for the next couple of days.

Pea sized up to nickle sidebar hail at my place last evening with some places having golf ball sized hail coming down in the western side of Houston.

Cold and clear. 23 F. Supposed to hit mid 30s. This supposed to be Old Man Winter's last hurrah, with temps rising the rest of the week. Predicting temps in the mid-70s by this time next week. We'll see.

We went from 92F to 52F from Tuesday to today, hot and dry to cold and damp. We need the rain, lord knows, and have gotten about 2" in the last 24 hrs. I hope it keeps going. My dog hates it. Pokes his nose out the door for potty, and then goes to the pads to do his bidness.

Moderate-to-heavy thunderstorms last night and this morning, but the ground's so dry the rivers and lake won't see any change without a lot more rain.
