Plan_D:

So there are no British bands worth the listening eh?

Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains...clueless people on this planet that had the fortune (or misfortune?) of having found themselves under the minacious MTV eye once the "music entertaiment" mafia got tired of those ugly 80s bands whose members looked either like (i) bad haired crazy chicken rescued from a madhouse or (ii) low-budget tramps from some L.A. slum and decided a "new" music style was required to continue making money.

Oh no...no, no, no...when it comes to wisdom -on every issue of human knowledge- it is highly unlikely nobody here or anywhere else can surpass your sapience.

Primus:

As you might read I did not object the quality of their music. Their sound is certainly not for me, but still I do not believe they were awful musicians at all.

The clueless thing was not aimed at their skills as musicians; rather, it was aimed at the personalities of some individuals comprising those bands. Had the chance of reading/watching interviews...what a case...

That could be said about a LOT of musicians, Udet. Besides, the music business is perhaps one of the most corrupt businesses anywhere. Believe me, I know, I worked in it for a while. But today, the "popular" music is nothing more than the Peter Principle personified. There are many, many seriously talented artists out there that have not been discovered and probably never will.
