I have got to get to the long tunnel on the old Clinchfield line in Dante on a snowy day. It is the longest tunnel on that old line at 7854 feet. It would be neat to catch one coming out after a big snow storm.

That's very sharp Cota!! Back around Feb. I went up to Roanoke Va. to the Transportation Museum and took a bunch of shots some of which I posted either earlier in this thread or in my photo thread (Brooks' Photos). You might enjoy those. At the time my photos skills were not what they are now but the material is ok.

Cool, I'll look them up- That's a place that's still on my list to get too!

The Great Northern in the "sky blue" paint scheme is my favorite "fallen flag" railroad.

Got to love the GN Sys! But, I prefer their older colors. Can't beat good mountain railroading a' la Milwaukee Road, Great Northern, Nothern Pacific and Southern Pacific!

Anyone have Rock Island pics in the Black/Red scheme? Rock Island is my favorite, mainly because of a Uncle who like the RI, and modeled many HO scale engines and rolling stock in RI colors.

Took off to Dante this afternoon. Man, they're still trying to get electricity, trees down everywhere. It's bad enough that I don't think the trains are running. I tried to get to the tunnel but the service road was out of service.

These trains have been sitting since last Friday night at least. Notice the damage to the front of the above engine.
