Going to get out and chase down an antenna for the 2m rig for the van and a computer cable for the oldest boy. He bought an SSD and adapter card for his machines, but it didn't come with cables and we haven't been able to identify the correct cable yet, so a visit to the big computer place that happens to be down the freeway an exit or two from the ham radio store. Going to ponder HF mobile antennas while there as well.
Take picture --> google lens.

Decided to make some different meats in the cooker, so got all of that at the grocery store. Tomorrow get some, side stuff for the dinners. Then do three lesson plans. One for 1st grade, one for 5th grade, and then for both courses I am taking.

Your car likely just needs a toe adjustment, but with that front tire worn excessively like that, you'll need to replace the tire.
I'm surprised Firestone never mentioned anything about an alignment.
I knew the tire would have to be replaced. The one on the other side is much newer, having been replaced due to road damage. And I have lifetime alignment on the car so they checked that. Thing is, I never had the tires rotated and so the older one on the front wore out and the ones on the rear look almost new despite dating from 2013. The formerly rear ones are on the front now.

12 year old tires? Even if they don't show much wear I would not trust them at highway speeds. Maybe if you just drive it short distances and 5o or so mph max.
I have never liked running tires with a big age gap even if they are the same brand & Model. You don't have to worry to much about cold weather grip, but I have found that modern tires harden with age, and you might not like how those 13 year old tire grip on a wet surface.

But I understand and its your call.

A few years back my winter tyres (Nokian Hakkis) got to 7 years old, and were still acceptable but nowhere near as good as new. I thought they would get to April ok, but would need to be changed before next winter. I figured they were no good in Winter, so I thought I would run them over Spring/Summer until the tread wore away and then put my summers on. Despite all the "common wisdom" saying winter tyres wear out rapidly in high temperatures, I ran those suckers all spring, summer and fall and they were still going strong when I changed them with new ones in November.
So much for winter tyres wearing out when it gets hot! They did fine even when I was driving at 90+°F.

I can believe that worn winter tires don't wear fast at summer temps, most brands of winter tires only have the softer winter compound about 2/3's of the way thru the trad depth. So if you noticed a drop off in winter grip you had probably already worn thru the winter softer winter rubber compound. So the remaining rubber was the less expensive regular all season compound. I found that out when after 4 winters the Blizzak's on our old G8 gave up most of the better traction in the snow. Did some research and was surprised to learn they didn't have the winter compound all the way thru the tread depth.
I don't know for sure your Nokian tires were that way but I suspect they were.

Flew the airplane, this morning for a mere 15 min. AWOS was reporting 7 kt out of 300 deg. Windsocks seemed to show more like 330 deg. I went up just to judge which was correct, because since the new AWOS went in it does not seem to agree with the windsocks. But I could hardly feel the wind on landing, so I guess AWOS was correct; it is stuck up much higher than the windsocks.

Oh, well, gotta go out and spray undercoating on my truck.

I thought I was going to work.y Mazda 3 with 202200 miles has designed to run rough to the point I only went a mile before returning home. It is mine when it warms up a bit but no get up and go. Engine code shows lean air flow but the reason could not be found. Now I am at a garage hoping they can find the issue. Unscheduled time off. 😟

Engine code shows lean air flow but the reason could not be found.
My 2007 Toyota Matrix displays a Check Engine light when it gets cold out, as in the 40's. Code is lean mixture and it seems that when things shrink in the cold a intake manifold leak develops. Hardly affects running or performance and when you turn the code off the light stays off until it gets into the 40's again.

Spray some WD-40 over the seams of the intake manifold and see if that affects it.

$1,900 later and I picked up the car last night. The high pressure fuel pump was 1,30o of it, another $120 for a new sensor. It was about $300 more that I was planning to pay. But more than the estimate. The parts were about what I was one line.

Fast forward to this morning. Jumped into the car for a meeting in Houston. Engine must better but still a little off. I started the motor and the check engine came back to life. Here we go again.

I'm trying to boost my side business by offering private training to highly paid people. I'm meeting with the first 3 prospects. At $50 for 45 minutes and a minimum of 4 hours a month, I only need to get 2 - 4 people a month to make good beer money. Net is 120.00 a person.

I am having bacon, but with my eggs. I should finish my coursework today, but I will probably do the usual and wait until Sunday. Once the two classes end on Sunday, I get a week break (which is a long time) and start the next one March 10. That ends in April and the new one starts at end of April. This summer is the first time I will be taking classes. The light is at the end of the tunnel at end of year.
