Settled my car insurance claim. They will pay off the loan and send me some cash. I retain the vehicle, but with a salvage title. Should be more than enough to buy a u-pull-em tail light assembly and a can of blue paint.

Will they take in account this the next time you want to insure your car?Settled my car insurance claim. They will pay off the loan and send me some cash. I retain the vehicle, but with a salvage title. Should be more than enough to buy a u-pull-em tail light assembly and a can of blue paint.
I will probably only be able to purchase liability coverage to cover anyone I hit. My car won't have a high enough value to worry about. Will they take in account this the next time you want to insure your car?
In Minnesota, if the car passes a salvage inspection, and it is over 6 years old, you can get a clear title.A few years ago my auto insurance company tried that once, I said I was not going to accept the lessor payout and a salvage title to get the car back, after several weeks of me ignoring their insistence that I had to send the title to them so they could convert it to a salvage title and make the car worth 1/2 the price of a clear titled example. They agreed to my terms I took $500 less and kept the clear title on the car. "They don't like it when the claim extends over 30 days as it upsets the companies accounting."
The car had very superficial damage, and scratched clear coat on the paint over about 3/4's of the body and my wife had drove it under evergreen branches near the side of the road to avoid a spinning car coming into her lane. I ended up finding a parts car of the same year make and model with a bad engine, and swapped out the most damaged painted panels, and the bent lower control arm. I actually made a good amount of $$$ off that one, sold parts off the doner car, and after a good polish you could not tell what panels had been replaced or see the minor scratches in the panels that where not replaced.
But I am stubborn.
Just retired, OOAH !
Are you getting paid yet?Outstanding. 4 months done for me now
Best of luck. The wheels of bureaucracy turn slowly, if at all. Most of it. Old Age Pension from the government still the hold-out. This is the one you automatically get once you hit retirement but I chose to keep working for a few years and a huge can o' worms opened up
Awesome, congratulations mate!Just retired, OOAH !
How lucky for you, mine increased.....................AND...................WITHOUT PAY!The overtime completely dried up after I retired. Just an observation.
