I wonder that the Luftwaffe's FW 190 pilots would think of the A6M's comparative light construction, lack of armour, underpowered (for 1942) engine and weak armament. Here's what they're used to.

CVD Vantablack - is "grown" on a surface by a chemical deposition process. Ending up as a layer of vertical carbon nanotubes. Incoming light enters the nanotubes and becomes trapped within the tubes until it is absorbed. Vantablack absorbs 99.965% of visible light. Three dimensional surfaces appear two-dimensional and totally flat.
MIT has developed an even darker black reflecting 0.1% as much light as the vantablack
