Looking good Corey, must have used a swag of tape on that on.

Like it Karl, good work on the spinner and it looks like you got a bit f sun. Hope your back sorts itself.

I think I've probably got a spare red bar Karl - I'll check it out and let you know. Hope you can get your back problem sorted mate - I know exactly how it feels!!

Camo done and a coat of future drying now. Next is touch-ups which will only need black / earth. Will probably get that done tonight then tomorrow will be a decal / future / weathering day and getting some fiddly bits on there. I think there's enough time to finish... oh clear parts

Looks rather neat old boy! The green on the port wing looks a tad narrow though, particularly the 'stripe' from the fuselage over the wing root, and the rear central wavy stripe. Not much in it, but if you can make it a smidgin wider, it'll look a lot better.
Good show, carry on, what !

About to come off the workbench. need to let everything dry for a few days then an overall coat of semi-flat clear and my B-29 ia done.
And I love Microsol. Thanks Airfames
By the way those are "Fat Man" and "Little Boy"

I like it ! Turned out great Mike, and you've got me wanting to do one now, especially after seeing the film footage in the video threads. Just need to find somewhere to put it, and then add one to my list of kits to get done - someday !
Might even dig-out my original idea, and build one as a WB50 weather ship, 'The Hurricane Hunters', operating out of Burtonwood, UK, in the early 1950s.
I know we take it for granted today, but the B29 must have been, and certainly looked, a heck of a technological advancement when it first appeared.

Outstanding Mike!! If I could find a problem with it i'd let you know, oh wait, there's none! Makes me want to try that kit, guess it will have to be this summer after spring semester.

Looks great Mike, well done mate..you too Corey!!

Karl thought I sent you the Red bars with Red 22...didn't I??

i only found the Wk number and the red 22's Wayne, no worries though i've got a red bar and i've lots of yellow 1's that i can make the thin yellow outline with

i hope i havn't missed them if you did mate, i'll look and see if i've still got the small cardboard square you sent them in

I've built a few models in my life, but most of them were very early on in my life. I was probably 8-9 years old when I build my first models. By the time I was a teenager, I had built quite a few, mainly aircraft starships, but shortly afterward, I just stopped. My last aircraft build was a Monogram P-61 BlackWidow.

Recently, I decided to revisit my childhood pasttimes, including model building. I've put together a work space tools, and have started a few little projects.

Not sure if anyone else does this, but I like to have a few things on the go at the same time. If I have to wait for something to dry in project #1, I can jump into project #2 for a bit. At the moment I'm finishing one model, and about to start into another.

It's not an airplane, but what's on the bench now is this... a very tiny one piece model of the Tantive IV, Princess Leia's ship from the movie Star Wars. It's 1/4222 scale, I think. I'm building a diorama of a Star Destroyer chasing the Tantive IV, ala the opening scene in the film Star Wars.

I've spent quite a few hours on it so far. It's not done yet. I still need to touch up the paint and then weather. You might wonder why a one piece model in 1/4222 scale can take hours to put together...

... the engines light up!

Getting 11 strands of optic fibre through an 'elbowed' 1/16 drill hole in a tiny 1/4222 scale model ain't as easy as you may think. Drilling the holes was even harder. Some parts of the model's hull aren't much thicker than the 1/16 hole I drilled to run the optics through.

Then, in stark contrast to the above, my next project arrived today... a 1/24 Airfix JU87B-2. My first aircraft model in about 30 years!

I'm going to take my time with this one. I'm just doing my research at the moment, and gathering supplies. Excited to get started though.

Leif

with the exception of the R-3350 that powered them. those engines were an engineer's nightmare. I read that B-29 crews would literally kiss the ground after landing cos it was basically a flying deathtrap for them
