I'd love to see your Vichy hawk, Wojtek, sounds interesting, and different.
Chris, I might have a prop off a Halifax, if you can adapt it and fit the P40 spinner over the top? Sorry, but I don't do 1/72nd scale much, so not much in the spares box! Can you repair yours by immersing in hot (not boiling) water, and gently bending back into shape?

The problem with the Academy P-40 spinner is that it is oversized. If it would be corrected the whole nose of the model would have to be corrected as well.

PS Still no time to continue the project of the Vichy Hawk, Terry. The P-40 is scr@wed up totally by the firm. Here some pics of a couple corrections I have made so far.As you can see the angel of the fin leading edge had to be corrected by adding some plastic, the same is with the rudder. The rear part of the fuselage had to be made longer at about 3mm.

I guess this is why I never got into plastic scale modelling. I don't have
the resources to tell me the fuselage has to be 3mm longer, or the rudder is
not at the correct angle. The modifications some of you guys make to models
is beyond my comprehension. There are pic's of Wojtek's modifications to a
bf109 around here somewhere. Mind-boggling !!

Yeah, I remember that one Mr C.....how's that one going Wojtek? Any other things that you'd care to show us buddy.....without giving us nightmares, please?

Of course guys... :D there is a nice series of pics I took for P-51B/C reportage.A piece of cake.As you can notice the fuselage is too short and it has to be longer about 3mm.

Pic 1 and 2 - Comparing to drawings.
Pic 3 ..... - Marking lines where it has to be cut out.
Pic 4 ..... - Whe one half of the fuselage has already been cut out.
Pic 5 ..... - White inserts glued in gaps, the glue is drying.
Pic 6 ..... - The half of the fuselage ready for farther working on.
Pic 7 ..... - Some working with files and sandpaper.
Pic 8 ..... - The final effort.

right now I'm waiting for the glue to dry on the Hurricane Wojtek sent me! :D the wings and horizontal stabilizers need to be attached. the wings don't curve upward like they should, so I'm trying to solve that, atm.
