What's on The Workbench

I can't speak to the base of the prop but it was quite common for the back side of the tips to wear down quickly.

Went through 4 of 138 Bf books and agree some wear at the tips, some had no wear on tips and didn't matter the theatre, snow

grass. Note just one tip had wear and all the wear is similar in size

Where was that picture taken Andy? It looks like a railway station.

Cheers guys, great photo.

Nothing to scream about, but my latest:

TA-4J cockpits coming together. Ejector seats aren't detailed as 1) they are OOB, and 2) there will be pilots in them. Once the pilots are painted, they will be glued in, and cockpit halves joined up.

Just couldn't leave the Halifax prop as it was, so filled the blemishes as much as possible, sanded, and resprayed it. Looks alot better now, and looks even better with naked eye. These macro shots are brutal...
(Still looking to achieve a much finer finish with the acrylic paints though, or is this how they all are in 1:72 scale??)

Cheers.

It looks to be coming along nicely Evan. As for the pitted look with spray close up, yes it can look rough but I would say it is not uncommon, I suppose it would depend on the pigment not to mention the dust that gets on everything no mater how hard we try to prevent it.

Looking good Evan. I'm still learning the AB and in the past few months I've been spraying 1:1, paint/thinner. Its mostly about being cheap because of a four hour return trip to get paint stock but I like the results a lot more

Cheers guys. A long way from the lovely finishes you achieve though Wayne!
