Looking good Mike. The yellow stripes on the bombs should be between the fins, running fore and aft, from the joint of the fins to the bomb casing, back to the rear of the 'cone' where the fins attach.
The front of the engines should look like those in my model from the same o(originally) Hobbycraft kit, if you can make them out OK. The underside shot shows the crosses overlapping the dive brakes, with the cross repeated under the brakes.
Note the model is converted to the A5, is not finished, and is very dusty!

Like this?

Yep. Maybe slightly narrower, and from the joint of the bomb casing and tail assembly, although there were probably variations.
Thanks for the help with the pic - been trying to find mine of actual bombs.

Karl, yes they did, sorry I should have PMed you, what do you think, did I do an acceptable job on your bombs? Lostinhull, thanks for the pic, that helps a great deal, I'll repaint and modify. Been working on the picket fence balkenkruse, lots of fun. the small slats act like a wick and draw the paint to either side.

I think Karl means these cross-beams running between bomb fins. ......... pic source - via the net

Thanks to all of you, NOW, I know what those "extra" pieces are for. I now see small notches in the fins where those extra pieces go. Started putting them in last night. Fun, fun, like gluing wings on flies

Fin braces and the start of the Balkenkruse, had some white bleed along the slats so that's next to fix

The picket fence painting I don't like but the closeness of the slats wicks the paint to either side and fills in the slat space, especially the white. once the bleeds are covered I'm going to have to take the xacto to the slats and clean them out, hopefully without chipping the paint in the process. Picked up a roll of that new FROG masking tape. Going to try it on the other side to see if it stops the bleed.

Thanks both of you,
Terry I have great hope for this new masking tape. Edges are treated with a substance that reacts chemically with paint to form a barrier. guaranteed no bleed under. Called FROG tape on this side of the pond.
