We must be backwards or something, down here it's usually written how I've been doind it (#)sqnRAAF, same for the 400 series squadrons. Occasionally its also written RAAF (#)sqn like you said. Still I don't think it makes much difference, or does it??

I don't think it makes much difference. I do the same thing sometimes. As long as you get the squadron across.

Well, it can get confusing if you're taking it off the squadron codes on the aircraft fuselage. The RAF squadrons 450-467 are RAF squadrons with Australian crews. The RAAF squadrons are Australian with Australian.

The thing is; there's a RAAF 1 Sqdn. and a RAF 1 Sqdn. It's written how I wrote it before here.

All I can tell ya is it was captured at Castel Benito and was used by the RAAF to ferry pilots and beer!!
