One of these (Mandarin Duck) has somehow appeared in New York's Central Park
We have Mandarin Ducks here in Redding. They've been a fixture since the Gold Rush days when the Chinese brought them over.

In addition to that, we have wild Chukkar (Rock Grouse) and wild Peacocks - all of which were introduced in the late 1800's.

There are also rare sightings of Cardinals, which are native to the east coast, but they were introduced to the Savramento valley in the 1910's by a person who thought they's be a colorful addition to the area's groves. They didn't really flourish, but they didn't die out, either...so they can still be seen on rare occasion.

This one is different. It's a Rosy-faced lovebird, which are indigenous to Namibia and Zambia in Africa. Evidently, there were a bunch in an aviary in east Phoenix and were released along with other birds when the aviary went out of business in the early 90s. They have since gone "feral" and have become self sufficient and reproducing population in the Phoenix area and are now spread throughout the valley. I see them primarily during the summer but occasionally in winter as well.
