Now a few Birds. Mockingbird Chicks (Florida State Bird) about to fly from our front yard Roebelenii Palm (Spellings vary), a juvenile Blue Heron stalking our lizards (Blue Herons are snow white when young), a very large Pileated Woodpecker and a flock of Wild Turkeys in our neighborhood. Not sure if these are the Osceola species but the locale is correct.

Had a feral cat problem a few years back. Caught this little guy stealing my cat food bait! Angry looking when cornered, totally confused when he was released unharmed. The 10+ ferals are not shown as they were dispatched.

Dinosaurs do exist. At least in Florida. This one is on Highway 19 just south of Weeki Wachee in Hernando County.

Sadly, 2 different Coral Snakes, both fresh roadkill victims by golf carts on our street. See color scheme - "Red Touches Yellow, Dangerous Fellow", (but only if you disturb them).

Had a possum problem a few years ago - Bought wire cage traps -caught them, let them go in nearby woods. I began to recognise some of them, so spray painted marks on their backs and found they can find their way back at least 1/4 mile. I began to take them 3 miles away, and release near a creek and deep woods - those didn't return, however the last had gotten so fat, returning and eating cat food, that he could just barely fit into the trap. Old yellow stripe was taken over five miles and never returned.

An interesting thing about Racoons is they seem to have the ability to teach the young about food experiences. While living in a suburban area, Racoons would finish the cat food left outside. The free meals ended. Then, as freeloaders often do, they began to expect it. I would hear scratching on the glass doors and there were three or four, standing on rear legs, scratching for food to be put out. I began to run them off when they appeared and the problem seemed solved. One night, over two years later, scratching was heard and the source was a very tiny new young racoon who could not have been possibly alive in the years earlier episodes. I can only conclude that a grandpa Racoon told the new one, "If you can't find something to eat, go to this certain house and the sucker there might feed you."

This northern cardinal is a visitor to my garden caught on my trail camera. The pics of the lizard, roadrunner, and fox were all taken within a few seconds. The lizard was watching the roadrunner from about 20' away, while the roadrunner and fox were (surprisingly) ignoring each other. The circle of life in Central Texas!

Where we live in Central Florida, Sandhill Cranes will stop by in large flocks that are apparently migrating to and from distant areas. I am not familiar with their flyway schedules or locations. We also have nesting couples that remain along ponds in our neighborhood and are seen in our yards and streets daily as they nest, graze and raise their young. We see them season after season. Here are a few photos of each situation. I actually have a couple of short videos up to 15 seconds long with the sounds of their very distinctive voices, but I can't seem to get them to "post" as Attachments. Any advice on Posting a short sound/video here? Would appreciate any advice.

One of our local residents, probably the largest one I have ever seen. I guess he must have been hit by a car. In fact, while I was getting ready to take some photos a kid on an electric bike ran over him again.

Across the street from my house, the neighbors were visited by hungry raccoons regularly. The kind lady there hated not always having something to give them but she said that the mother raccoon did not want her babies eating the food provided by the humans. I guess the mother wanted them to learn to find food and not count on humans.

Twas the tiniest of Red Belly Black snakes with it's tail end hanging out. They are beautiful!!
