I have a crap-load of strips from a wooden ship kit, this should show the size. Be happy to fire them off to you if you can't find any in the "Eukay". They are from a Artesania Latina 1/50 "King of the Mississippi" river boat that I have been slowly scavenging stuff out of for years now...

I'm pretty good with USN aircraft, been studying them for years, come to think of it, the decks of US carriers from that era were painted Deck blue, so any material underneath would work, as long as there are lines scribed in...
 
We live in a world from each other my friend, you could do a super-duper detailed 1/48 Bf 109E-4 from just a stretch of sprue, wire and some chewing gum! ;) :lol:
I struggle sometimes to open the bl**dy boxes! :lol:
