Effing marvellous Andy !
But, just one thing, did you remember to ensure that the oil filter seal was fully crimped up? If not, the oil will leak out within around 8 hours !!

Thanks very much guys. Rather surpised at the few problems I had getting everyting to fit. And Terry, no leaks. Ready for power up and mag check.

My next challenge will be this:

The kit glazing cracked on me when I got a bit over-zealous trying to clamp the fuselage halves. Initially I thought I could get away with the fact that most of the crack appears in the solid frame section but given that a corner of the clear section has a crack through it, I'm now leaning toward chucking the lot and scratch building a new section of glazing using clear plastic card heat formed around a wooden plug of the same curvature a-la Terry. Any other ideas would be welcome.

Terry, I've found that while this technique works quite well on scratches, I've never seen it hide a crack that goes completely through the clear part. Or is there something I'm missing?

Nope, I hadn't realised the crack was all the way through. You could still try it though, nothing to lose, and you never know, it might work. And Jan could give up Guinness too .....!!

No.....I can't see that as an option....Jan I mean!

Tricky situation you got there Andy...me i would pull out the damaged clear pieces and fabricate new sections...how? not sure just yet, but I wouldsolve it never the less...

I tend to agree Wayne. Trying to locate some clear plastic sheet at the moment. With nothing to loose, I thought I'd experiment with adding some Tamiya Extra Thin cement into the crack and working it to see ifthe melting action will help fuse the internal faces of the crack. We'll see how it goes.

If the section that will remain clear is flat like it looks in that pic, maybe you could cut it at the bottom edge it the clear portion, leave the lower curved painted section, fix and paint it, and replace the clear flat section with some clear plastic sheet.
