1/72 C-47 HARS collection FINI

Thought I would add this one to the HARS plane grouping.
The display is intended to have them in a flying position, so I thought Landing would be good. Thus it's going to require dropping flaps, ailerons, rudder and elevators articulated.

My first pctures include on of the plane in the collection. Decals are commercially available and I do have a set.
Elevators cut from stabs and inside curved sdge filled, filed and sanded.
Rudder cut from fusey halves. Inside curve built up with styrene and ready to shape.
Ailerons cut from wings, again built up with styrene to shape the indie edge. This one is sloped, not radiused.

Nice one Bill. It should look great in landing configuration. Or how about in take off mode, with the gear part retracted?

The title is the perfect example why I need spellchek.

Elevators, ailerons and rudder are sorted. I haven't stuck the fusey together yet, will finish off the rudder space when I do.
Wheels and landing gear to clean-up, and flaps next.

And.......... since the flaps are going to be exposed at 45 degrees down,
I just had to do something with them! Didn't I???

I drilled out the exhausts.

Haven't picked the Canberra up yet, it's at a members house. I may ask him to leave it on my bench at the museum. I have a pretty good start on this one. Stuck the fusey together today. There's a soft spot from glue on the nose ans will fill the dent with CA tomorrow. The windows are painted black from the inside, no interior onnit since it will be in a cabinet for display.

Just in case? Haven't you given already??????

Meanwhile I am hinging the rudder. Cut slots in the vert stab and glued in styrene for the hinge. I'll trim and file and sand the stab to hide the hinge and then shape for the insert into the rudder.
