First of all, congrats Wayne, on your awards for your models. Truly outstanding! Second, never knock a clean builds. There's a guy in my club who always builds clean, and he consistently picks up firsts and Best of Show. In the IPMS Nats this past year, he picked up a second and third for his 1/72 birds. One was a Corsair, the other an He-111, both buillt clean.... no weathering.

Nice stuff again Wayne. Nothing wrong with clean builds, although personally I prefer just a touch of wear and tear, depending on the age/location/ situation of the aircraft being modelled - too clean shouts 'just off the production line', and a model doesn't have to be deeply weathered to look better, just enough to take away the shiny newness, so to speak, and preferably as the actual aircraft being portrayed actuially looked like at the time. Each to their own I think.

Didn't realize the Russians used blue in their green/earth camo scheme. And the Yak is impressive. But if the orange was supposed to mimic significant rust, that's a faux pax on an aluminum airplane.
