Hi all:

The only F1 race I've been to was the terribly hot Dallas '84 race. The last one for the DFV - the turbo cars actually jumped during gear changes on the far straight!

I was a mid-packer in the 80's in Formula Ford - before the DB-1 obsoleted everything.

My Tiga FFA-77 is vintage now & you can time me with a calendar - but it was fun!

May 31, 1981: Gilles Villeneuve delivered Ferrari's first win in a turbocharged car at the Monaco Grand Prix.

There was chaos immediately before the scheduled start when a fire in a hotel storeroom above the tunnel resulted in water cascading onto the track, and for a time the whole grand prix was in doubt as fears were expressed that the tunnel's electric lighting could fail. In the event, the race started an hour late....
