WoW!
You took some VERY nice photos!
It looks there was alot to see, and from the looks of it, you went for a ride in the helicopter shown in photo #76 - Olympus collection?
* LOL * you added some photos while I was asking that question!
I think you just answered it!
Hi GG, and thanks a lot.
Yes, there was a lot to see, the air guys had really put a nice show together.
My only regret is that I missed the Hispano's flight display. *pouts*
Apart from that, we had a great time and a great day.
And yup, my buddy Jørn teased and lured me into going along for a helicopter ride as a challenge, even though I HAD told him that it would be a cold day in hell before I went up in one of those things, telling him that "It hasn't got any WINGS!"
He had a laughing fit while I pouted, and then he told me, "Well I bet that if you ask nicely, we can get the pilot to add some for your sake!"
I nearly kicked his butt, but had to laugh.
Well, the only way of getting rid of a fear is by facing it.
And so Jørn bought our tickets, and I spent the following 1½ hours with chattering teeth and nerves in tatters.
Once we got up there, I was okay - in fact, I was more than okay - I enjoyed the ride with a broad grin plastered to my face, and when we got back down, I told Jørn while pointing at the helicopter with a broad grin: "I want one of those!"
He nearly laughed himself to pieces, and gave me the biggest bear hug that I've had for a long time, and then he told me that he was pretty darned proud of me, because he KNEW that I was terrified of helicopters and flying.
Well, not so much any longer - "wary" fits better now.
That was a great day and a great experience, that's for sure.
Ad even though I was dog-gone tired when I got home, I had problems falling asleep, I was just plain, old-fashioned happy after this great day together with friends, watching all the great pilots do what they do best.
