OK so I pulled the mummy from it's coffin this morning and over all I am happy. The masking had been on quite a while and I shall have to do so slight remasking of the blue nose and do some touch up, but I think it looks like a P-51, thanks in large part to the kit being a P-51 kit. I think I like the Alcalds but I think I am a novices at best with them.

Looking pretty good Don.You got a water separator on the tank?I think that may be the frosting on the bottom. You can buy scotchbite pads like in 1000 grit and polish the plane before the gloss black then pad it down again before the silver then I hightack the plane.I tried a semi damp cloth/paper towel but it left specks on the kit.I went 3/4 times with the silver on the P-47 before I was satisfied and using 1500-2000 grit before I was content.I have done a few NMF and their is a learning curve but you are doing good.:thumbright:

I have the water trap on the AB but have AC issues and live in Houston. So I did have moisture issues, I'll have to check out the scotchbrite pads, used to keep steelwool around but don't have any now. Thats some good info to keep in mind because I plane to try it again a few times, B-29, F-86, F-84 etc... Thanks.
