The wings come together - I do find Eduard Fw wings to be very satisfying to build

The yellow is on the tail fuselage.

Paul, no luck with defintive pics, but if I were a betting man, I'd say slicks as most pics I've seen of JG54/26 machines that show the tires seem to have the ones with no pattern.

According to Jerry Crandall's Vol. 2 the tread tyre was the standard one in use while the smooth was a late war change.

Hmm. Squadron's Dora Walkaround says the exact opposite - treaded late, bare earlier. If I had to pick, I'd go with Crandall though.
