Lots of interesting details and info...doing good George.
As a matter or research, recently I,ve read two reinforcements on the spitfire Vb wings were done when spit received Merlin 45 with cropped turbos. Spit "clipped, clapped, cropped" were to combat at low level (higher turbulences) and some 30 mph higher speed at sea level than the usueal spit vb.

Well done, and some great research.
I just read thru the lot!!!
Looks like an MTO III coming up and Eye have a Davidson Mk.Vb from 126 Sqn Malta for entry.
At the beginning you mentioned the second color of the cammo pattern was added in the field for your Sqn build.
Would this be true for 126 as well?
I also cannot find a definitive 126 Sqn photo with the "V" as a code to save my soul. I may invent V*D for mine!!!
I have found a 126, no code, being pushed around in a single dark color with what could be the Sky Blue underside as you have mentioned.
