So I cut out a section of card stock in the general dimension I wanted and glued the upper section along the wing left it set for a couple of days. Than this evening I worked it at the forward section then the sides. Using Proweld (or equivalent) I let it set some as it softens up the plastic so it will mold some. I think it did ok. The mess will clean up easily.
After sanding the mod I still had a ledge to work. I used Tamiya White putty to work the issue. This did some but more work. I used some Mr. Surfacer 500 and then sanded that down. I'm liking it now.
Nicely done
i would of dumped it or lived with the step, i am in awe of you guys that put so much effort into correcting details that are not accurate !
Thank you all for the kind inputs. Update, Keywords; Mr. Surfacer 500 and Tamiya Surface Primer. I am learning to love them!
With most of the mod being worked out I was still having a little edge that I could work out. I laid down the Mr. Surfacer 500 and then after a day of drying I sanded the bejeezus out of it. over under and all around. I wish I had not put the engines on as they just got in the way but I got'er done!
I then has a noticeable gap on the engine wing mount which I used the Mr. Surfacer 500 for just using a toothpick to lay it down. I did the same to the aft wing fuselage section. This morning while still cool (as opposed to later in the day) I came up and sanded it all down. My right arm is giving me fits and I had to lay everything down several times to shake the numbness out but here are the results. Ready for a primer!
