Hello,

The subject will be one of the mounts flown by H. W. Schnaufer as Gruppenkommandeur IV./NJG1 during April 1944. This aircraft, wnr.720260, is quite known but coded G9+EZ when H. W. Schaufer was Staffelkapitän 12./NJG1.

My project will be coded G9+DF, there are few photo of this aircraft with this code. I have a low quality copy of a page I suspect taken from the book « Vinnige Valken, Vlammende Blikems. De Vliegbasis van Sint-Truiden 1941-45 » by Christiaan Vanhee and Peter Celis where we can see G9+DF in flight but du the quality of copy, it's hard to see if Schräge Musik 20 mm MGFF is mounted and hard to see the type of radar system (FuG 220 SN-2b with Fug 212 Lichtenstein C-1 or only FuG SN-2c ?)...
It's known that H. W. Schnaufer used Schräge Musik from second half of 1943 to claim 20 to 30 victories. I suppose that G9+DF was equiped with this armament... I suppose too, as a Gruppenkommandeur and Ace, his aircraft was equiped with lastest technology radar such as FuG SN-2c... I suspect no ventral armamant and I read that H. W. Schnaufer didn't like the 30mm Mk108 cannon and didn't use the four MG17 nose armamant. He used only MG151/20 in the lower fuselage as forward armamant. So, I wonder what part on the kit I'll use for the nose...
I noticed that Eduard instructions of their 1/72 kit indicate Schräge Musik, FuG 220 SN-2b radar and Mk 108 cannon in the nose. OWL decals indicate in his decal sheet 48007 (2005) Schräge Musik and FuG 220 SN-2b with Fug 212 Lichtenstein C-1 and no precision for the nose armamant but the illustration is drawn with Mk 108 and finally OWL decals indicate in his decal sheet DS48017 (2016) Schräge Musik and FuG 220 SN-2c and no precision for the nose armamant but the illustration is drawn with Mk 108...
Ready ! :)
