With the ammo chutes now replaced, here's what I'm up against. Lots of empty space around the guns and nothing that shows a top view of the area:

 
Thanks guys. Good reference Geo. I suspect some artistic license was use for that and I might need to use some of that too if I do anything there. I would have thought there would be some wiring or tubing from the engine up to the bulkhead in front of the IP but maybe not.
 
As I mantioned it above it looks like there weren't any wires or pipes from the engine. Here are shots of the same area but for the Yak-9. Also you may notice there was nothing. The flat horizontal plate is not only a cover of the ammo boxes but mainly the fuselage reinforcement and part of the firewall there. Also it seems to be the rear base for attaching of the gun endings.





Additionally all airframes of the Yak serie had the same plate without any lines there.
