About done with the booms. Oil cooler section first.

Oh sorry, that was lunch with the wife at Los Cucos.
Now where was i, oh oh yeah, oil cooler.

Than the radiators.

And then it happened. Part of the gear apparatus tha had to be installed, I didn't want but couldn't see how it could wait, got broken. I have the broken part so hopefully it can be fixed.

Good stuff Don. How did that gun cowl turn out since another poster seemed to have an issue?
Wayne, I did a test fit, and didn't note any issues but I didn't have the guns or side panel on. My intention are for the gear and guns to wait till the last after most of the painting goes on.

Thank you all for checking this all out. I've moved to the guns. Well wait a second. I did shoot the plane in Tamiya gloss black primer and then shot it in Testors Model Master Metallizer Aluminum followed by a coat of Alclad gloss sealer.

Then on to the guns.... I bought the Quickboost P-38 gun set and the Masters P-38Early metal gun barrels, I'll break the resin ones. This is all done as the Tamiya (oh god don't say Tamiya didn't do something right) are anemic at best.

The QB gave me the mounts for the Masters..... there was no backing on the nose with Tamiya's concept...

I cut the cannon mount and the MG mounts off the QB and inserted them from the back

And Valaw I had my mounts....

Next I put the sleeves on the barrels and inserted the using CA gel...
