**** DONE: GB-64 1/48 P-51D ( I ) - One Trick Pony

Looking good Geo. But as I said it a couple GBs ago while the disscussion on the P-51 wheel bay was. The main wing spar, the front leading edge one the stringers and the central airfoil-bulkhead seen in the wheel bays, were of the YZC while the wing skin was unpainted inside. It can be noticed in the grabbed screenshots

Pre -20 Mustangs were done as above. After the entire wheel well was YZC. Mine is a -10 so I'll do it as above

Yeah them Alclad stencils aren't making it to my model either. There was a guy here years ago that made his own, actually for German skins, but I don't think I'll go to that length myself.

Thanks guys. Clear parts masked and installed and spritzing has commenced; a shame you can't see it. I hit the moving surfaces with Tamiya X-32 Titanium Silver. Once dry I'm going to shoot white for the invasion stripes and things that will be red

Looks ready for paint George but check your sanding on the wing front, small scratch marks may show through the aluminium paint.

That was done with 1500 grit Vic. That's as low as they go in this little berg. Heading to PG in a few days, hoping to find lower

Tamiya used to and maybe still does do a pack of sheets, 2 x 1200, 2 x 1500 and 2 by 20,000 grade.
