Since that I've decided for this one....

Fw-190 D-9, W.Nr. 600174 from 1./JG 26 'White 13' and flown by Uffz. Jesinger Wilhelm, who went MIA in 24/12/1944, Huy south east said to be shot down by P-38's from 367th FG, around 11.30am...

Seeing that she's a Fiesler bird, built between Okt-44 and Dec-44, I was wondering, can I use the 'White 13' from EagleCals EC#126, or is that the wrong shape etc., both the W. Nr. 600174 and W. Nr. 210982 are from I./JG26, I can imagine that camouflage might be slightly different, '174 being Fiesler and '982 being Focke Wulf, but what about that '13'?

Thoughts?

Seeing as how the aircraft are from the same unit I think that there is a good chance the numbers on the two aircraft would be in the same or similar style. They might even have been applied by the same man!
The other JG 26 aircraft found at Hustedt all have similar size and style of numerals.

As for your camouflage? That's a fairly early bird and early Fiesler production was finished in the old 74/75/76 scheme. Later the supposedly standard 82/83 was adopted,I don't know exactly when but by February 1945 it was definitely applied.

Cheers

Steve

Good stuff Jerry.

and Jan I agree with Steve, but I will point out that JG26 did use more than one style of '3' on their Doras...

Now....I've pulled this one out and dusted it off, from many years ago Dragon/Trimaster D-9 good reason to get it finished...seeing as though its well on it's way already!

Jan if you are going to do 600174 then I think besides the 74/75/76 camo cited by Steve that the cowling in my opinion is 83 upper and 76 lower with mottling of Grey 74 or 75 or both on the upper cowl...happy to help you with further details at the painting stage...

considering 600150 myself....

I'm doing this bird (aye, I know how it sounds), so any help with the camouflage is most welcome Wayne, might get me going on my JG301 'Red 13' as well, new paints to be had...

Only need to figure out the shape of her 'White 13'...

Btw, surprised not seen Zaggy here yet!

Hey, Guys,
Has anyone have any pictures of the wheel bay for the Dora? I have tried to find something online and I am just not getting any results. I want to verify what additional wiring needs to be added.
Dale

Thank you, Wayne. I cannot find any Squadron or EE Fw-190 books here in town that I can thumb through before buying and I am not a fan of buying such pubs sigh unseen off of ebay or amazon. If I get a series of strong recommendations, I will then buy sight unseen.
Dale

Damn! I could only keep myself away from this for so long... I'm only human you know!:D

So, here's my entry... The model is already more-less assembled, but still plenty of work left so it qualifies for this GB me thinks. Anyway, it's my preferred scale 1/72 and an old Airfix kit. Why this old kit and not something newer you might ask? Well, out of pure nostalgic reasons. This was the first Fw 190D I've ever built back in the days, so I wanted to do it again. To improve it a little I've rescribed all panel lines. Kit decals give options for two aircraft Oskar Romm's machine or "Yellow 10" of JG 26. Since the decals are of poor quality and off register and I want to do a JG 26 aircraft anyway, I've dig up among my spares a combination for "Black 1" as shown in picture and profile bellow.
