4./KG3 Dornier Do17Z-2, W. Nr. 3457, 5K+JM. Engine hit by AA fire over Chatham during sortie to bomb London Docks and tried to reach cloud cover but intercepted and shot down by S/L J. Sample of No.504 Squadron. Abandoned aircraft crashed through trees and onto houses at Perry Street, adjoining Barnehurst Golf Course, near Dartford, 2.45 p.m. BO Uffz Kurt Hausburg baled out over Kingsdown but killed due to parachute failure, FF Lt Herbert Michaelis and HS Flgr Hermann Börmann both baled out and captured wounded, BF Uffz Wilhelm Burbulla baled out and captured severely wounded - died two days later in County Hospital, Dartford.
