We had a Fly-In last Sunday at Benton Field (O85) here in Redding hosted by the EAA and Hillside Aviation. They kick it all off with a pancake breakfast and it usually goes well into the afternoon. Lots of cool static displays (including some cars) as well as rides (fixed and rotary) available.

I've been going for a number of years now, dunno why I haven't posted pics in the past, but I am this year

We even had a hot pass by a L-29 that's owned locally. I didn't know it was inbound until I heard it, but was able to get off a half-decent shot as it was halfway down the runway (the others were of it's arse as it headed north...)

Anyway, here's a few shots of the day

Thanks Eric!
It was a real nice day, not too hot with a breeze out of the NNW. The blue/white Ercoupe is nice, but trust me, they need to keep a close eye on me when I'm around the yellow/polished one...lmao

Thanks guys...it was a fun day (would have been much better with my daughter), though I noticed that while the crowd seemed to be a bit larger than in past years, there were fewer aircraft attending this year.

Matter of fact, this is the first time (that I can remember) where a vintage warbird didn't attend...hopefully next year will have a better turnout of hardware

cough cough *T-34* cough cough.
Ahh yes, you got me on that one! lmao

And that would also include the two in various stages of restoration in the hangar

In years past, there have been gunslingers on the ramp...that's what I was *technically* referring to...lmao

I guess I'll have to put my beer down and go outside and pull butt detail in penance for slighting the Mentor community now
