Today was the first day since July that it was too sh!tty to go outdoors so I went to the dungeon to do a little more on this model. Nothing in the way of pics as I'm just dealing with a lot of annoying little fit imperfections by adding and sanding surface primer, particularly around the landing gear fairings on the leading edge of the wings. Another few globs have been applied and are drying as we speak.
 
I must thank you Canadian friends for the gift you are sending to us down here is southeast Texas. We are projected to have highs in the mid to low 80's come next Wednesday with lows going down to the high 50's to low 60's. This 99 with feels like triple digits (up to 119) is starting to get old. SOOOOOO THANK YOU FOR THE COLD WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks gents. I have a small bit of progress to report.

This is a picture taken back in mid July showing some additional detail added to the wheel wells. There's lots more that can go in there that is associated with the door retraction mechanisms but I'm not sure that I'll do all that yet as it's pretty finicky. I will, though, add the undercarriage retraction jacks.



As mentioned, there's been a lot of filling and sanding/polishing/rescribing around the undercarriage fairings at the wing leading edges and I think that I'm now finally at the point where I can apply the camo paint. Below can be seen the finished state of this area and also a small scratch built landing light cone made from rod.



There's a very small chance that I'll get this model done by the weekend if I put my nose to the grindstone but other activities will likely get in the way. Thanks for looking in.
 
That could cause your nose pain as it will take the skin off. Grindstones can hurt. Find something less invasive to rest your nose on and get 're done.

Yesterday, I painted the AMT-7 undersides. The Tamiya mix I used was 85% XF-23 Light Blue, 5% XF-8 Blue, and 10% XF-2 White. After that was sprayed on, I added a bit more white and went over the surfaces again in a patchy manner. The pic below doesn't reflect the outcome very well as the colour is actually a bit darker and the tonal differences are more visible in real life.



There is a darker patch on the fuselage just ahead of the tail planes. Pictures of the real aircraft show what appears to be a repainted area, possibly to cover a pair of white rings around the fuselage.
