Just for the fun of it;) I checked the War Diaries of VS-31. For the first time 3 SB2C-4E are listed on April 27 1945:

On May 6. 1945 the a/cs from the same type became 6 (BTW tomorrow is May 6-th:cool:):

There are no "Helldivers" listed in any of the earlier diaries (1944).
The above quoted diaries are rather "dry", without any details or names (compared to other squadron-histories I've seen). At least one detail caught my attention: almost every day there was a "Patrol George" at down and a "Patrol Fox" at dusk. Inbetween sometimes there were "Easy patrols", 1 or 2.
So George, if you do a plane from VS-31 (and not from XVF-200 which is a post-WWII unit), you may prepare your "Beast" for a "Patrol George" at down!
Good luck!

Not sure what I was thinking when I first started this in the days of yore but almost nothing lined up when attempting to line up the fuselage halves so I've spent time breaking things off and cleaning them up. CA was used to reattached the rear deck. Tidied up the radio radar rack and will need a few touch-ups before gluing into place. Should have the fuselage buttoned up shortly

Another 'edge-of-the-seater'! Actually I've not seen anything you build where I could say 'that's ok'; all have been lessons towards improvement for me.

Thanks all, innards are done and set. While waiting I tackled the wing inserts. Mold lines to remove.

Can't see any bomb racks in the photos so these holes as well as the one(s) for the Yagi will be filled. Bondage is required for the 4mm "L" shaped join

Last of the fuselage bound up.

I've read of fuselage/wing fit issues and sure enough, there are gaps. As mentioned before, there isn't much out there for builds so I'm going to check and see if the Accurate Miniatures re-box has a few builds before I tackle the wings. Its nothing major but someone must have found an easy way to deal with it

Looking real nice George
That kit looks to be a vast improvement over the Monogram kit I build when I first got back into the Hobby 25 or so years ago
