Yes I have a Hasegawa kit with markings for Johnson's P-40N, guess I will do that before anyone does any decals for Johnson's P-38's.

Two possible options:
Option 1: spinner NMF and blue

Option 2: spinner blue/white/blue

You can also build his P-47D but not sure that a decal sheet for it exists.

So what's Johnson's P-38 look like?

P-38H-1"83" SN? previously "92" when flown by Maj. Sidney Woods who was replaced by Johnson during August 1943. It is possible that this aircraft wore 2 thin oblique bands on the vertical tail when it was flown by Woods... Maybe Johnson kept it as an OC...? But if we look at the tail, it seems that there is a darker oblique band/thin line above the "3", maybe white markings repainted over with fresh OD...?

Correct, the Hobby 2000 kit used Hasegawa plastic parts and new decals for a better price.

I had planned to make the h8k emily but detailing the entire interior, I have all the designs done, with the photographic support that I have I have designed in 3D to print it but the printer will have to wait at least until after Christmas or longer... What I have changed is a spitfire based in Burma, it was the first model I bought from Hasegawa around 1996, until then I had not made any from Hasegawa, (Hasegawa AP41), this time at 1/48 and from Eduard (2015)

Thanks, that's very kind my friend, but to be honest I would need a house extension! :) Big Spitty fan though, I have ALOT in the stash!
Once again, Don's remodeling tip! BIG TRUCK, "accidentally backing in house" where extension is required! You can thank me later! Oh make sure the house insurance is paid up!😁
