Its that time of year again folks, when us two intrepid picturografic types fore-go the pleasures of modern living and disappear off into the wild blue yonder on another weekend full of aviation p*rn. Thought I'd start the thread early this time and provide one or two pictures each day instead of waiting 'till the following Monday to to bore you all with a few snapshots.

We have a few new 'visitors' booked to attend this years event so we're looking forward...hang an minute...Tony's at the front door....that's it, we're off...stay tooned ! :)

Wellllll...the first day (arrivals day) was bit of a waste of time. Airfield closed due to weather until 16:00 !. Cold wet and miserable. So went for a walk around the hangars to see what what was happening. Saw the two Steve's working on a naughty Griffon spit but they where quite busy so didn't interrupt them. Then bumped into none other that a Mr C E Bud Anderson !!.

With the cr*p weather, there was no flying...even the birds where walking !

Here's the first batch of pics taken around a few of the hangars..

    Cheers Geo

The weather outside was grey and overcast...vis about a mile with a 500ft cloudbase, but at around 16:00 it started to lift and a few birds managed to get aloft.

We are very fortunate to have the P-26 Peashooter over for the event. Probably the first time a '26 has flown in UK skies !.

And it was great to see the mighty Corsair ripping thru' the murk :)

Great stuff Gary. The weather forecast for the rest of the weekend is mixed, with Saturday possibly being the better day, but light and heavy rain showers predicted.
I'll do my Navajo reverse rain dance before I leave in the morning, and hopefully bring some dry weather with me.

Great shots Gary. Wonder how they got the P-26 over there for the show. Is that the P-40 that was in an OD Pearl Harbor camo with big white letters or is that another one? Can't be many of those early model P-40s around.

Outstanding guys. Gary, regarding your first pictures and the haze. I had some photos with lots of haze and tried something on Paint.net as a lark...

    048.jpg 049.jpg

...the photos cleaned up pretty well, I think. I used the Autolevel Adjustment shown below. Might be worth a shot.
